Today one of the most requested games of all-time finally joins the Virtual Console lineup. No, not Clu Clu Land, but rather Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for SNES. This collaboration between Nintendo and Squaresoft (now Square Enix of course) saw Mario branch out into the RPG genre, with a light-hearted RPG also boasting plenty of platforming elements and a difficulty level not quite as bad as most Square offerings. On the VC it retails for 800 Wii Points - nice to see it go for the "standard" SNES price.

In our last post we showed you how popular the music video game genre has become over the last few years. Well this just got my curiosity up and I just had to see what the big deal was on why these music video games have become the bomb on all the latest video game consoles.

So I went to you tube to see what all the fuss is about and was I blown away by all the guitar hero and rock band videos that are availible to check out. Her is one that particularly caught my attention comparing Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band. So if you ready to get down on some rock and roll and you not sure what game you want to get. Another month, another four weeks of frontrunner performance for Japanese gaming giant Nintendo in the U.S. market. According to NPD data for July, Nintendo has further solidified its hardware dominance with monthly sales of 608,400 units of its twin-screened DS handheld, and 555,000 units of its demographic-busting Wii home console.

And the solid summer numbers are not just limited to Nintendo, with research specialist NPD offering that the entire videogame industry has registered a sizeable jump of 28 percent throughout July to push the market through to $1.19 billion USD.

While July is generally seen as a slow month for videogame sales, the monthly figures reveal that….

Not content with just releasing a dedicated Guinness Book of Records Gamers Edition, the GWR team have teamed up with Telltale Games (that’s right, the talented folks behind Lego Star Wars and Lego Batman) to produce a Nintendo Wii and DS game based on the famous book. The game is chock full of records that you can study and then try to beat yourself and hopefully stand a chance of getting your name in the real Guinness World Records book. We don’t quite understand how Guinness World Records Wii will work yet but….

Madden NFL 2009, the latest version of the No. 1-selling video football game, went on sale. Anxious gamers lined up Monday night at some Brevard County stores so they would get the game when it became available at midnight.

Some local stores reported relatively slow sales early in the day, but expected more business Tuesday night. Others reported brisk sales right from the start.

GameStop at 1080 N. Wickham Road in Mebourne had a special opening for a half-hour at midnight so fans of the Madden series, now in its 20th year, could lay claim to the latest installment as soon as possible…..

NPD has released its analysis of June's retail activity, and the industry's sales numbers continue to skyrocket with $1.69 billion in game sales, $615 million spent on consoles, and $202 million from accessories. "The video games industry continues to perform in the face of an ever-increasingly difficult economic environment as many turn to more in-home entertainment," said Anita Frazier, industry analyst for NPD. "Even if growth slows over the back half of 2008, the industry is poised to achieve record-breaking revenues of over $22B for the year."

Hey all of you Wii Play fans. I just had to tune in on this one. If you have not herd there is a new kid in town and he is here to scout new worlds for his master to devour. I've always been a comic book fan and some of my favorite [comics] was reading the Fantastic Four.

Coming this summer to a theatre and game console near you is the new movie and video game Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The trailer from this movie and the video game looks awesome. If you do not know the story of the Silver Surfer he is a being that surfs the cosmos for planets to devour for his master Galactus.

The first Fantastic Four movie a few years ago did not live up to most peoples expectations . But this one so far looks really good going back to the annals of marvels original characters that made the Fantastic Four the Bomb.

Hello My Wii Play fans, A few months ago we made a post about playing the [video game] Zelda The Ocarina Of Time and how my wife and I enjoyed playing the game  from beginning to end defeating Ganondorf.

We never did finish Windwaker. It seemed after a while all we were doing was sailing around the vast seas and never really getting anywhere. I guess we will just have to save Windwaker for another day.

Well after five months of having the game on my video game shelf. I finally started The Legend Of Zelda Twilight Princess . Usually my wife and I would share the remote control weaving are way through the adventures that Link would encounter.

This time I could not wait for her any longer. Seems like that Simms 2 just has her mesmerized and I could not wait for her any longer to come up for air

I am about ten hours into my game and have just defeated the first boss in the game the Twilit Parasite - Diababa. Learning how to use the Wii Remote was very easy as I was concerned about using the Wii Remote going through my first big adventure with the Wii Console.

The interaction between Link and Midna is really cool. As links companion Midna notifies Link of any obstacles that he has to overcome by playing a jingling sound in the Wii remote control. Somewhat like Mr Tingle in the Windwaker only this time you don't have to purchase a Game Boy Advance to make it work
